The Junior Academy consists of four programs: U10, U8, and U6 boys and girls. Each program bands two age groups together. For the 2025-2026 year, the age groups will include the following birth years:

U10 - 2016 & 2017

U8 - 2018 & 2019

U6 - 2020 & 2021

The goal of the Academy program is to prepare players for travel soccer, which begins at the U11 age level. There are no tryouts to join the Academy. Players are evaluated during the beginning of each season and placed on rosters in the league level that is best for their development.

Academy players have the choice of training once or twice per week. Games are played against other VA United Academy teams in Roanoke and the New River Valley with occasional games against other academy programs, also.

NPL = NPL Premier

NPL Classic = NPL Select

The NPL Program consists of 3 levels: 

NPL Elite - Consists of our top level NPL for the 07/08 and 09 Boys age group  only.  This program features play in the top NPL tier with an option (if available) to play in the ECNLRL if the opportunitie arises.  The teams will train three days a week and participate in college showcases as applicable.

NPL Premier Roanoke and NPL Premier New River Valley (11U-19U) -  The NPL Premier Roanoke and NPL Premier New River Valley will play in the top division in the NPL called the NPL West. The 11U-14U NPL/NPL Premier teams will participate in both the Fall and Spring season. The 15U-19U will participate in the fall only.

NPL Select Roanoke and NPL Select New River Valley - These teams will participate in the NPL Classic division. The 11U-14U NPL/NPL Select teams will participate in both the Fall and Spring season. The 15U-19U will participate in the fall only.

The ECNL RL program consists of 2 levels: Pre-ECNL Roanoke & Pre-ECNL New River Valley (11U-12U), Regional League (13U-19U). ECNL RL will train in both Roanoke and the New River Valley. Pre-ECNL Roanoke will train in Roanoke and Pre-ECNL New River Valley will train in Blacksburg. Teams will participate in the South division of the ECNL RL division with the 11U-14U age groups playing a Fall and Spring season. The 15U-19U will play a fall season only.
